Short Biography:

Professor Md. Moqbul Hossain has been working as Professor and Program Director of the Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management, World University of Bangladesh (WUB) since November 1, 2014.Before joining the present post he had been working as Professor and Head of the Department of Business Administration of the same university since September 1, 2006. He stood 8th position in the Board in order of merit in SSC (Humanities) Examination, passed HSC (Commerce), obtained B.Com (Honours in Commerce) and M.Com (Management) degrees from Dhaka Board and University of Dhaka with credit. He started his teaching career in a private college and afterwards qualified himself and was selected directly for joining Bangladesh Education Service (BES) by Public Service Commission (PSC) in 1979.He joined Bangladesh Education Service (renamed as BCS,Education afterwards) and rendered his services to the capacity of Lecturer, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Professor and Chairman of the Department of Management Govt. Carmichael College, Govt.Fazlul Haque college, Govt.Jagannath College , Jagannath University and Kabi Nazrul Govt. College respectively from May 1980 to June 2006. He retired from Govt. Service (BCS, Education Service) on June 2, 2006 and joined as Professor and HOD Department of Business Administration, WUB on September 1, 2006. Professor Hossian is a reputed author and during his long 40 years’ of teaching career he has written 8(eight) Text Books on Cost Accounting, Management Accounting, Industrial Accounting, Bank Management, Insurance Management, Banking Insurance and Risk Management, Financial Management etc. for the students of graduate, post graduate levels and also for the professionals. He attended and participated a good number of seminars, workshops, symposia organized by different universities of the country as well as some corporate and professional organizations. He also worked in Hotel Intercontinental, Dhaka and in GED, Planning Commission, Peoples Republic of Bangladesh for sometimes. Professor Md. Moqbul Hossain was awarded “Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam Gold Medal- 2017” by Bishwa Manabadhikar Foundation as the recognition of his glorious success and remarkable contributions in the field of education. He was also given “Gunijan Sammanana” by Debiganj Upozilla Kalyan Samity of Dhaka for the same.
