Biography
Sara Murtaza has been serving as a Lecturer in the Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management at the World University of Bangladesh since 2024. She holds a BBA and MBA(Regular) in Tourism and Hospitality Management from the University of Dhaka. Her Master’s thesis, titled “Branding the Cultural Tourism Destination through Redevelopment: An Empirical Study on Rajshahi Division,” reflects her academic interest in tourism branding and destination development.
She has successfully completed over one hundred hours of hands-on training at the ACE Hospitality Management Institute, covering housekeeping, front office management, food production, and food and beverage service. In addition, she has received training in Property Management Software (PMS) and completed the Integrated Supply Chain Management Course under the USAID Feed the Future initiative, where she participated in the Training of Trainers program aimed at enhancing trade and business-enabling environments.
Beyond academics, she has actively engaged in professional and extracurricular activities. She served as a member of the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA), Dhaka University Chapter, from 2016 to 2020, and was also involved with the International Tourism Student’s Confederation (ITSC) in 2016–2017. She contributed to the international conference “Tourism Beyond 2050: Future of Mass Tourism,” organized by the University of Dhaka in 2017, and is an active member of the THM Alumni Association.
With her strong academic foundation, industry-focused training, and global exposure through professional associations, Sara Murtaza brings both theoretical insight and practical expertise to her role as a faculty member at WUB.
