Biography
Md
Mahfuzur Rahman is a Lecturer in the Department of Tourism and Hospitality
Management at the World University of Bangladesh, having joined the faculty in Jun
2026. He completed his Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and Master of
Business Administration (MBA, Thesis-stream) in Tourism and Hospitality
Management at Pabna University of Science and Technology (PUST), graduating
with high academic distinction. His research and pedagogical expertise lies at
the intersection of sustainable tourism development, community-based tourism
(CBT), socio-economic tourism innovation, and strategic hospitality management.
To
effectively align academic frameworks with contemporary industry practices, Md
Mahfuzur Rahman completed a specialized corporate residency as an HR and
Administration Trainee at the Ratnodweep Resort in Pabna. This firsthand
operational exposure provides him with critical industry insights, which he
actively integrates into his undergraduate instruction and experiential
learning methodologies.
In
addition to his teaching responsibilities, Mr. Rahman actively contributes to
scholarly dissemination and empirical research. His academic excellence has
been recognized through prestigious, merit-based honors, including the PUST
Academic Scholarship (2023) for outstanding undergraduate performance and the
Jessore Education Board Scholarship (2016). His current research portfolio and
academic poster presentations cover vital sectoral domains, such as Marine
Tourism, Destination Management, Rural and Cultural Tourism, and the
application of biometric technologies within hospitality infrastructure.
Bringing
a robust theoretical foundation, corporate acumen, and a dedicated commitment
to research, Md Mahfuzur Rahman contributes valuable academic rigor to the WUB
faculty. He remains steadfastly committed to student mentorship, curriculum
innovation, and the advancement of sustainable tourism literature in
Bangladesh.
