WUB Department of Tourism & Hospitality Management Celebrates Freshers' Reception 2026

The Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management (THM) at the World University of Bangladesh (WUB), in collaboration with the WUB THM Club, organized its Freshers' Reception 2026 under the theme “Setting Sail into the Future of Tourism & Hospitality” on July 21, 2026. The program was presided over by Professor Mohammed Nasimul Azim, Head and Director of the THM Department.

The vibrant event warmly welcomed newly enrolled students with flowers and special gifts. It featured an interactive discussion session with the university leadership, followed by a lunch gathering and a colorful cultural program.

Professor Dr. M. Nurul Islam, Pro-Vice Chancellor of WUB, attended the event as the Chief Guest. In his address, he emphasized the importance of developing professional skills alongside academic studies and encouraged the freshers to prepare themselves as competent human resources for the evolving tourism and hospitality industry. He also appreciated the department and organizers for arranging such a meaningful event.

Among the Special Guests, Professor Dr. AQM Shafiul Azam, Dean of Academic Affairs and Research, encouraged the students to gain practical experience and become technologically proficient, highlighting that the dynamic hospitality industry offers abundant career opportunities for skilled graduates. Other distinguished Special Guests included Professor M. Moqbul Hossain, Controller of Examinations, and Professor Dr. Selim Ahmed, Dean of the Faculty of Business, WUB. A.N.M. Ahsan Thouhid, Joint Registrar; Mohammed Shaiful Hannan, Joint Controller of Examinations; and Susankar Kumar Roy, Senior Assistant Registrar, also attended the event and extended their warm greetings to the freshers.

The program was successfully coordinated by Md. Abdul Latif Mahmud, Assistant Professor, THM Department Coordinator, and Moderator of the WUB THM Club, with the active support of faculty members Pulak Sarker, Sara Murtaza, Umme Honey Nidhi, and Md. Mahfuzur Rahman.
