World University of Bangladesh Observes World Tourism Day 2025

On the occasion of World Tourism Day 2025, the Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management of the World University of Bangladesh (WUB) organized a series of activities on Saturday, September 27, 2025, in alignment with this year’s global theme: “Tourism and Sustainable Development.”

The program commenced with a colorful rally starting from the university campus and concluding at Uttara Diabari Lake. Following the rally, students participated in a cleanliness campaign around the lakeside area, symbolizing a meaningful step toward promoting environmental awareness and responsible tourism practices.

The event was graced by the Honorable Pro Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. M. Nurul Islam, who attended as the Chief Guest. In his address, Professor Islam emphasized the vital role of tourism in fostering both economic growth and environmental sustainability.

Distinguished guests present on the occasion included Registrar Professor Jaki Imam, Controller of Examinations Professor M. Mokbul Hossain, and Professor Muhammad Nasimul Azim, Head and Director of the Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management, WUB.

The program was also attended by Associate Professor Issa Ahammad (Department of Business Administration), Joint Controller of Examinations Mohammad Saiful Hannan, Deputy Controller of Examinations Mohammad Abir Hossain, and Md. Abdul Latif Mahmud, Assistant Professor, Coordinator, and Moderator of the WUB Tourism and Hospitality Management Club, along with other esteemed faculty members of the university.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Professor Muhammad Nasimul Azim.
