WUB Hosts “BTHM Inter-Batch Futsal Championship 2025”

The Tourism and Hospitality Management
Club, Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management (BTHM), World University
of Bangladesh (WUB), successfully organized the much-anticipated “BTHM Inter-Batch Futsal
Championship 2025” under the slogan “Uniting Batches, Building Team Spirit.”
The tournament commenced with a trophy unveiling ceremony on 20 September 2025
and concluded with an exciting final match on 22 September 2025 at the SDI Home
Ground, in front of WUB’s Campus.
As part of the preparations, the trophy unveiling ceremony was held on 20 September 2025 at the university
cafeteria. Professor Dr. M. Nurul Islam,
Honourable Pro Vice-Chancellor of WUB, graced the event as Chief Guest, while Professor Zaki Imam, Registrar of WUB,
attended as Special Guest.
Also present were Mohammed Shaiful Hannan, Joint Controller of Examinations; Mohammad Abir Islam, Deputy Controller
of Examinations; Saima Nazrin,
Jr. Deputy Registrar; Afroza Akter,
Jr. Assistant Registrar; and Susankar
Kumar Roy, Sr. Assistant Registrar & Liaison Officer of the THM
Department. The ceremony was presided over by Professor Muhammad Nasimul Azim, Head and Director of the
Department, and attended by Md. Abdul
Latif Mahmud, Assistant Professor, Academic Coordinator, and Club
Moderator, along with faculty members and enthusiastic students.
The futsal
championship took place on 22
September 2025, featuring six competitive teams from different batches
of the department: Velociraptor-38,
Destroyer-42, Team Ruller, Elite Kicks-40, Drakonix-41, and Changers-37. In the final, Velociraptor-38 defeat Changers-37 with a 5–0 victory,
claiming the championship title, while Changers-37 finished as runners-up.
The trophy presentation ceremony was graced by
Professor M. Moqbul Hossain,
Controller of Examinations and Founding Former Head of the Department of
Tourism and Hospitality Management, as Chief Guest. The Special Guest of the closing
ceremony was Professor Muhammad Nasimul
Azim, Head of the Department. Faculty members, students, and supporters
created an electrifying atmosphere with their spirited cheering and vibrant
presence.
In their remarks, the Chief Guest and Special
Guest praised the initiative, noting the role of sports in uniting students,
fostering collaboration, and strengthening leadership skills. The event
concluded with a vote of thanks from Club Moderator Md. Abdul Latif Mahmud, who expressed gratitude to the organizing
committee, distinguished guests, and participants for making the championship a
resounding success.
